Secretary of the Executive Council of Information Technology Announces ‘Resolution’ for Dealing with Divar and Sheypoor Platforms.
Previously, a letter from the SAMT had been published, indicating that this ministry had requested the cessation of activities of these two platforms.
According to IDEA, after the publication of the letter addressed to the Union of Virtual Space Businesses by the Ministry of SAMT on Thursday, August 31, in which this ministry had called for the cessation of activities of the Divar and Sheypoor platforms, Reza Bagheri Asl, the Deputy Minister of Communications and the Secretary of the Executive Council of Information Technology, wrote in his edited account on Friday: “According to the government’s decision and the circular of the Legal Deputy, the request for action or suspension of the country’s platforms must be approved by the committee mentioned in the decision, which has not happened in this case. Additionally, we will resolve the issue of property ownership verification with the cooperation of the Ministry of Roads, Industry, Mine, and the Interactive Task Force.
Bagheri Asl wrote on his user account on Friday
“I am very grateful to the friends of the Ministry of SAMT, as well as the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, for their cooperation in resolving the issue. All government institutions fully support the legal activities of digital platforms.”
The Secretary of the Executive Council of Information Technology announced the solution to the issue of dealing with the two platforms, Divar and Sheypoor. Earlier, a letter from the Ministry of SAMT had been published, indicating that the ministry had requested the cessation of activities of these two platforms.
According to ISNA’s report, after the publication of the letter addressed to the Union of Virtual Businesses by the Ministry of SAMT on Thursday, Reza Bagheri Asl, the Deputy Minister of Communications and the Secretary of the Executive Council of Information Technology, wrote on his Telegram account: ‘According to the government’s decision and the directive of the Legal Deputy, requests for action or suspension of national platforms must be approved by the committee mentioned in the decree, which includes seven members from various government agencies, including the Ministry of Communications, the Iran Chamber of Guilds, and the Association of Virtual Businesses. Since the secretariat of this committee is located in the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, announcements are issued by this office, and therefore, it is not solely an announcement from the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade.’
In this news, which ISNA has published, Mohammad Hossein Ghamari, the Director-General of Public Services at the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade, was quoted as saying: ‘The Ministry of SAMT has always been the most significant supporter of virtual businesses, and all of these businesses have been established with licenses and the support of this ministry. Our inherent duty is to support the development of these businesses.’
Ghamari emphasized the importance of resolving issues related to publishing fake real estate advertisements on online platforms, stating: ‘In the last four months, we have resisted any suspension and restrictions on the activities of platforms and held multiple meetings with the CEOs of these platforms, and they have also signed the minutes of these meetings.’
Mohammad Hossein Ghamari positively assessed the daily negotiation process with the mentioned platforms and stated that they have mentioned some technical obstacles on their part, which are currently being addressed.
On Thursday, a letter was published that showed the Deputy Directorate of Commerce and Services of the Ministry of SAMThad requested the Union of Virtual Businesses to suspend their activities due to the fact that the Divar and Sheypoor platforms had not complied with specific regulations regarding online platforms’ online advertisements. The managers of these two platforms, in a conversation with the attached statement, stated that they had not received such a letter and are currently following up on the matter. Now, with the publication of the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade’s news and the statement by the Deputy Minister of Communications, it seems that the suspension of Divar and Sheypoor’s activities will not be implemented for now.
