Snapp’s Response to Violent Encounter by one of its Internet Taxi Drivers with a Passenger
According to IDEA, a recent video depicting a violent encounter between one of the driver-users and a passenger on Snapp has deeply affected public sentiments. In response, Snapp has issued an official statement: ‘We at Snapp deeply regret this behavior and apologize to the passenger for experiencing such conduct during a Snapp ride, as well as to all those who were affected by witnessing this video.
In the incident that occurred, Snapp’s Travel Security Unit initiated the support process as soon as they received the report. Upon receiving the report, we immediately took action by replacing the vehicle and conducting urgent measures to ensure the necessary support for the passenger. The violent behavior of the driver-user is by no means acceptable, and in accordance with Snapp’s regulations, this individual was suspended within the initial moments following the report’s submission.
Regarding this incident, Snapp will stand alongside the passenger throughout all stages of the complaint. We have consistently emphasized that our users should address any disputes through our support and legal channels.
