According to IDEA, 66 percent of people trust digital advertising, with the highest level of trust, 20 percent, being placed in website ads. Following that, ads on Google hold 19 percent trust, social networks hold 15 percent, and apps and text messages each hold 6 percent trust.
In 1401 (2022-2023), over 800 billion advertisements were displayed on Iranian websites, and 36 percent of user visits to ads were from political, social, music, and entertainment websites.
On average, each Iranian internet user sees 35 advertisements on Iranian websites daily. On average, over 70 billion ad displays occur on Iranian websites monthly. In Mehr month (September-October), the lowest amount of displayed advertisements was reached in the past year, which was 56.2 billion times, while the highest amount was in Bahman month (January-February) with 92.8 billion times.
Visits to websites via mobile peak at 2 PM and 11 PM, while desktop visits are higher at 12 PM and then decrease slightly until the end of the night.
Beauty and finance, the highest amount of advertisements
The domains with the highest amount of advertisements were beauty finance and investment in the past year, to the extent that out of every three displayed ads, one ad was related to one of these two topics. The percentage of beauty ads was 21.1 percent, and finance and investment ads were estimated at 17.4 percent.
In terms of quantity, advertisers in the education sector were more numerous than in other domains. The proportion of advertisers in various sectors to the total advertisers indicates that education, online retail, services, technology, electronic goods, and fashion occupy the top ranks. Meanwhile, the highest budgets were allocated to advertising in the beauty, finance and investment, and travel and tourism sectors. These three sectors accounted for 40% of the total web advertising budget.
