Mohammad Sadegh Khayatian Yazdi, the President and CEO of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, believes that startups and social innovation ideas can solve societal problems and dilemmas. Innovative solutions can be utilized to aid social issues, according to him.
According to IDEA, Mohammad Sadegh Khayatian referred to the theme of the first cycle of the Social Innovation Award as “Innovative Progress in Life.” He stated that technology-based startups have significantly improved social conditions and people’s daily lives. Their positive contribution to society cannot be denied.
We are striving to employ innovative solutions to assist in resolving social issues through organizing this event. We aim to generalize these solutions in various social domains. He continued by saying that although financial institutions play a crucial role in social innovations, cultivating a culture of participation and providing opportunities for expressing creative ideas can be instrumental. If good ideas are discovered, investors, financial resources, and various means of financial support can undoubtedly be found.
He also highlighted the role of organizations in providing resources for creative ideas, stating: All advanced countries have supported good ideas and proposals, and this support has been facilitated through enterprises and larger businesses.
Profitable Enterprises Should Focus on Social Responsibilities
Ruhollah Hamidi Motlaq, the founder of the Social Innovation Accelerator ‘Hamno’, and the head of the Scientific Council of the Social Innovation Award, also addressed the role of commercial enterprises and their social responsibilities. He stated: Each profitable enterprise must also consider the external impacts of its business and prioritize its commitment to society. They should ask themselves whether they are contributing sufficiently to public resources and what direction their actions are taking.
The Iranian society has been well-known for aiding fellow citizens and fostering a culture of assistance for centuries. This participation can potentially resolve the country’s issues. Governments in most countries play a regulatory and facilitative role, while resources are provided by companies, the private sector, and individuals. In Iran, we face numerous issues such as water scarcity, environmental concerns, and social problems that cannot necessarily be resolved solely through the government budget. Previous perspectives are insufficient to address these challenges.
Registration continues until the 30th of Aban (November 21st).
Mohammad Rasouli, the CEO of ‘Dall’ Creative House and Innovation, and the Secretary of the Innovation Award, also commented on this matter: The idea of the Social Innovation Award emerged from an analysis of deficiencies in this area. We had a profound understanding of this field in the entrepreneurial and investment world. This idea is the result of two years of research and represents a global standard award that brings us closer to entrepreneurial and community-centric objectives.
This cycle encompasses projects in four domains: Product, Business, Process, and Ecosystem. Rasouli also explained in response to Iran’s Economy regarding the acceptance of proposals: There is no age limit in this cycle. All ideas from students, pupils, and anyone who can present their executable ideas are welcome.
Individuals must register their information on the website by the 14th of Aban, 1401 (November). Idea screening will commence from Azar (December). The slogan of this event is ‘Enhancing the Innovative Flow of Life,’ and we are determined to actualize this slogan.
The first cycle of the Social Innovation Award, aimed at attracting social participation and selecting the best ideas and projects in the social domain, commenced today, the 1st of Shahrivar, 1402 (August 23, 2023), and will continue until the 30th of Aban, 1402 (November 21, 2023).”
