Zoodex online food ordering platform sued Snappfood due to “monopolistic practices”. In this complaint, Zoodex asked the National Competition Council to investigate Snappfood’s monopolistic behavior, especially in the field of exclusive contracts with restaurants, which could result in the elimination of competitors from the market and hinder the entry of new players.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, “Zoodresan Keyhan Kariman” company with Zoodex brand name started its work in 2019 and currently operates in 9 cities. This platform asked the Competition Council to “pay attention to this area and examine all aspects with speed and accuracy in accordance with the dynamics of the digital economy.”
The Competition Council of 2019 had also condemned Snappfood due to the “Chilivery” complaint, but this decision was overturned in the Court of Administrative Justice.
In the past days, the “Azkivam” platform also complained to the Competition Council about the monopolistic actions of “SnappPay”.
The Development and Competition Studies Center of the Legal-Economic Bill has filed this complaint. This institution has previously been the counsel of the plaintiffs in the cases of Tapsi against Snapp and Azkivam against SnappPay.
