Ramin Layeghi , the CEO of SnappGrocery, at the Iran Logistics Innovators event, while pointing out the key importance of logistics, stated that this field is not limited to sending goods in the first mile, middle mile and last mile stages; But product processing also plays an important role in this process.
According to Iran digital economy annotation, he believes that innovation occurs when the problem is correctly identified and proposed. Layeghi explained that although many companies are using artificial intelligence to improve processes, a large part of e-commerce in Iran is still dominated by the informal or “gray” sector. According to Layeghi, these conditions make investing in the logistics industry more risky, however, the most progress in this field has been made by e-commerce companies that have sought to implement and improve their standards.
The CEO of SnappGrocery pointed out that only 5 to 7% of the FMCG market has gone online, stating that more than one million two hundred thousand goods are sent in this sector daily. He added that SnappGrocery’s share of this market is more than 120,000 daily orders and 60% of online FMCG business in Iran is dedicated to this platform. He also emphasized that FMCG is one of the biggest markets in Iran.
Referring to the challenges of transportation in the country, he said that there is a big gap between Iran and other countries in the world in this field. According to him, this gap can be seen in both the hardware and software sectors, but the problem is deeper in the hardware sector.
