The Minister of Communications said: Nearly 4,800,000 households were covered by fiber optics, which will reach 5 million households by the end of this month and 8 million households by the end of the year
According to the Iran digital economy annotation, Eisa Zarepour, on the sidelines of today’s meeting of the government delegation, told reporters that in the 13th government, 5,600 new villages got access to the Internet. By the end of the year, we will connect all villages with more than 20 households to the network.
He reminded: Regarding the sale of optical fiber in homes and businesses, which is our most important project in the field of communication, work is progressing strongly. Work has been completed in more than 100 cities and nearly 4,800,000 households were covered, and by the end of this month they will reach 5 million households and by the end of the year we will reach 8 million households covered by fiber optics.
The Minister of Communications emphasized: The speed that we can provide to people with this technology is several hundred megabytes per second. During the last visit of the president to Alborz province, this plan was opened in Chaharbagh city and the speeds of 900 to 950 megabits per second were provided to the people in this plan.
Zarepour continued: We are trying to provide this opportunity to all people throughout the country until the end of the government.
Referring to the suborbital tests of biological capsule in Iran, he said: With this measure, life in space was revived in Iran after 11 years. The last launch in this field was done in 2012. We will continue this path rapidly.
In response to a question about the status of issuing business licenses in this ministry through the national window of intelligent services, the Minister of Communications stated: There is another task in this field that all devices must provide all their services through the national window of intelligent services. About 70% of government services are now provided through this portal, and I hope we will see 100% of services in this sector by the end of the year.
Zarepour added: In the Ministry of Communications, we now provide more than 90% of our services through the national window of smart government services, and we will complete the remaining cases in the coming days.
