According to the announcement of the head of the Organization for Regulation and Radio Communications, frequency bands in the range of 3600 to 3800 megahertz will be allocated to communication operators to bring the entire country under the coverage of 5G in a specified timeline.
As reported by IDEA, after several years since the introduction of the third and fourth generations of mobile phones worldwide, there has been talk of 5G, or the fifth generation of mobile phones, for some time now. Considering the functions and applications of the 5G network in various aspects of life and according to experts in this field, 5G is expected to address issues such as low speed and delays that existed in previous-generation networks and have a significant impact on the growth of the digital economy and the Internet of Things.
In this regard, the implementation of the Internet of Things, smartification, and the provision of broadband services, in general, take place on the 5G platform. This underscores the importance of addressing it in various technical, regulatory, and commercial dimensions.
Some countries around the world have shown a greater inclination than others in developing the necessary infrastructure and establishing experimental and final networks for the fifth generation Internet, 5G, in comparison to other countries. They have done this by entering into cooperation agreements with major telecommunications operators to provide high-speed 5G Internet services to their users and citizens.
Recently, Amir Lahoori, the Deputy Minister of Communications and the Head of the Organization for Regulation and Radio Communications, announced a new decision of the Regulation Commission on a domestic social network. He stated that last week, the Regulation Commission approved the allocation of frequency bands in the range of 3600 to 3800 megahertz to communication operators to bring the entire country under the coverage of 5G in a specified timeline.
